Calling last-year Ph.D. students and recent graduates in medical imaging and computer-assisted interventions!
The MICCAI 2025 Doctoral Consortium, the first initiative of its kind at a MICCAI conference, is designed to offer PhD students and
early-career researchers an opportunity to present and discuss their research within the MICCAI community.
This platform aims to foster academic exchange, constructive feedback, and professional networking among emerging scholars.

Who Should Apply?
The consortium is open to:- Final-year Ph.D. students
- Recent graduates (within 12 months)
Why Participate?
- Feedback & Visibility: Engage with peers and mentors during discussions, panels, and breaks.
- Recognition & Career Development: Increase exposure through posters and get featured in the MICCAI Emerging Scholars Collection.
- Networking & Collaboration: Build meaningful connections with peers, mentors, and potential collaborators across industry and academia.
- Best PhD Thesis Award: Outstanding research contributions will receive recognition through a competetive award presented during the conference.
What to Expect?
The consortium will consist of three key components:- Doctoral Consortium: Participants will present posters based on their dissertation research.
- Ph.D. Thesis Madness: Participants will deliver brief oral presentations summarizing their thesis work. A Best Thesis Award will be presented to recognize excellence in research.
- Emerging Scholars Collection: A digital compilation of participant profiles and abstracts will be published online, providing visibility within the MICCAI Society and to potential academic and industry employers.
Important Dates
- Submission Deadline:
July 30, 2025 - Notification of Acceptance: August 15, 2025
- Camera-ready Submission: August 22, 2025
- Poster presentation: During MICCAI 2025 (September 24-26)
- Ph.D. Thesis Madness: During MICCAI 2025 (September 25 during Lunch)
